Project name:   Biogas power plant Horovce 2. Project of reinforcing, prolongation of durability and crack repair and restoration of reinforced concrete tanks SO-06 and SO-19

Position of LKM Consult:   designer of reinforcing of the tanks and repairing of the existing cracks

Subject of this order was reinforcing of existing reinforced concrete tanks using monostrand tendons and further prolongation of durability of repaired tanks. Radial forces induced by monostrand tendons are effective balancing radial forces from biomass fill of the tank. Project was aimed also for solving problems with existing cracks in concrete.

In this part of project were reinforced two tanks – end storage of biomass SO-06  and primary fermentation tank SO-19. Prestressing layout is respecting current position of technological equipment. Stressing of tendons was divided into 3 phases with accurately prescribed order, because cracks in walls were detected and slenderness ratio of tank walls was high for stressing in only one step. Before stressing of the tank SO-06 was created reinforced concrete stiffener on upper surface of the wall.

SO-19: internal diameter of the tank 25.0 m, wall height 8.0 m, wall thickness 0.28 m
